Nonthaburi Province
Nonthaburi Province is situated along the Chao Phraya River in the central region of Thailand, adjacent to Bangkok. It is one of the five provinces in the central region that has experienced comprehensive development, comparable to Bangkok itself. It’s also one of the most densely populated provinces in Thailand. Despite its bustling urban development, Nonthaburi offers captivating tourist destinations rich in historical significance, culture, traditions, and a blend of authentic Thai and contemporary lifestyles, giving travelers an unexpected experience.
Due to its strategic location near the capital city, Nonthaburi boasts convenient transportation by both land and water, transforming it into another essential tourist destination. Covering an area of approximately 622.38 square kilometers or 388,939 acres, Nonthaburi is the 74th largest province in Thailand. It has a river running through it and is divided into two main areas: the western side, primarily consisting of floodplain areas with various canals connecting them, which makes it suitable for fruit cultivation and agriculture. On the eastern side, you’ll find areas within Nonthaburi Municipality and Pak Kret Municipality, densely populated urban districts that could be seen as part of Greater Bangkok.
