Fresh Shrimp Pad Thai Recipe

Pad Thai with fresh shrimp is an easy-to-enjoy dish commonly found in Thai restaurants, often offered as an authentic Thai taste option for customers. If you want to try making it at home, gather the ingredients and follow these steps.


  1. Thin rice noodles or Pad Thai noodles
  2. Yellow tofu
  3. Bean sprouts
  4. Peanuts
  5. Dried shrimp
  6. Shrimp
  7. Finely chopped shallots
  8. Garlic cloves
  9. Chicken eggs
  10. Tamarind paste
  11. Palm sugar
  12. Fish sauce
  13. Chili powder
  14. Chives
  15. Vegetable oil

Tamarind Sauce Preparation:

  1. Boil water and set it aside to cool.
  2. Add tamarind paste to the cooled water, creating tamarind water by mixing it with palm sugar.
  3. Add fish sauce to the tamarind water.

Pad Thai Cooking Steps:

  1. Prepare all the ingredients before starting to cook.
  2. Heat a pan, add vegetable oil, peel and devein the fresh shrimp. Stir-fry until almost cooked, then set aside.
  3. In the remaining oil from cooking the shrimp, add yellow tofu, stir-fry until golden. Add finely chopped shallots and the prepared Pad Thai sauce (1/4 of the amount of noodles prepared). Adjust the sauce later if needed.
  4. Add the soaked Pad Thai noodles to the pan. When the noodles are almost cooked, crack the eggs into the pan, scramble them, and mix them with the noodles. If it seems dry, add more Pad Thai sauce.
  5. Finally, add the dried shrimp, stir in the peanuts and vegetables such as bean sprouts and chives.
  6. Plate the Pad Thai, placing the cooked shrimp on top. Garnish with roasted peanuts, lime wedges, chili powder, chopped garlic, and chives.
