Entering Thailand involves following certain regulations and guidelines, just like in other countries. However, there’s an additional requirement known as the Thailand Pass, which has been in effect since November 1, 2021. Here’s what both Thai residents and foreign travelers planning to visit Thailand need to know.
What is Thailand Pass?
Thailand Pass is a web-based system created for individuals, including Thai citizens and foreigners, planning to enter Thailand. It was developed to align with Thailand’s Ease of Travel policy set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, anyone entering the country needed to register and apply for a Certificate of Entry (COE) in advance. However, starting from November 1, 2021, everyone must register through the Thailand Pass system instead. The process for documentation and data entry has been streamlined, making it quicker and easier. In simple terms, Thailand Pass is an online platform used for data entry and certification to request entry into Thailand.
Who Can Register for Thailand Pass?
Individuals who have received a full dose of a recognized COVID-19 vaccine from one of the 63 approved countries.
